Adwa Victory shines eternally as most significant black victory: President Girma

ENA

112th Anniversary of the Victory of Adwa
Tigray, March 2, 2008 (Axum) - President Girma Woldegiorgis said the all famous victory of Adwa the sons and daughters of Ethiopia gained over Italian invaders 112 years ago has ever since been shining in the hearts and minds of Africans and all black people. The president said the new generation and posterity should repeat that victory in development by vanquishing poverty. The president made the statement in Adwa on Sunday at a colorful ceremony held to mark the 112th anniversary of that historic day on which Ethiopians annihilated a sizable military force of Italy who had invaded the land in their colonial ambitions in East Africa. Minister of the National Defense Forces, Kuma Demeksa on his part said the Ethiopian peoples are peace loving. They live by a strong principle of peaceful co-existence with any country.

It is becoming harder to update the web site on a regular basis. Attempt will be made to up date it at least once a week. That said, we wish our readers a blessed Lekatit day. It is thanks to the selfless sacrifices of tens of thousands of brave Tigrayan souls that we see today a peaceful, relatively much more prosperous and democratic Ethiopia. Eternal Glory to our Martyrs!!!

ENA

Addis Ababa, February 4, 2008 (Addis Ababa) - The 112th anniversary of the Adowa victory would be warmly celebrated throughout Ethiopia with assortment of befitting programs, Ethiopian Millennium Festival National Secretariat said. The nation would not have been able to celebrate its unique calendar-based new millennium had it not been for the Adowa victory, it was noted. Director General of the Secretariat, Seyoum Bereded said Adowa victory, which is a great honor for all freedom fighters and African people in particular would be celebrated on March 1 and 2, 2008 in Adowa town of Tigray State.

Are we supposed to get excited because Birtukan Medeksa wrote another disingenuous letter expressing her desire to respect the constitution? Didn't she and her defunct kinijit participate in the last election claiming to uphold the constitution of the country only to unleash street violence to topple the government? Didn't she write a letter of apology taking full responsibility for the mayhem and destruction of 2005 only to go to the United States and testify in Congress along with terrorist ONLF's representative in support of HR-2003? If it were up to her and her criminal colleagues, we would have witnessed in Ethiopia in 2005 the kind of ghastly scenes coming out of Kenya today, only in a much larger scale. Given another chance, they will not hesitate to repeat their criminal activities in the future. Therefore, the latest letter cannot be considered anything but a publicity stunt.

'To impose democracy from outside is inherently undemocratic'

Guardian

Western countries should stop trying to browbeat Kenya's warring political leaders into submission and do more in practical terms to prevent poverty, lack of opportunity, and Islamist terrorism from further destabilising the Horn of Africa, Ethiopia's prime minister, Meles Zenawi, has told the Guardian. .."What it does do is give the impression that Africans democratise in response to development assistance and all you have to do is close the taps and they will sit up and behave like proper schoolchildren. That is very unfortunate and quite demeaning."

Pro Siye Abraha websites and individuals argues that the former TPLF high official deserves to be heard even if he criticizes the government harshly since his overall message is about love and reconciliation. What kind of love and reconciliation could it be when according to Siye supporters themselves he severely, and in fact irrationally, criticizes the government and offends its supporters in the process? Contrary to the overwhelming evidence that points to Siye being in cahoots with Kestedamena's Berhanu Nega, his few vocal supporters contend it isnt so. Obviously Siye has every right to form or be a member of any political party he wants. At the same time, those of us who consider his new political alignment with CUDergists/AFD as a threat to the national interest of our country will continue to forewarn the public of the new unholy alliance. Remember Addis Ferenj? Well, she is long gone, but today we have Mekelle Ferenj, with the same wicked agenda of stroking ethnic animosity in the name of Human Rights. Our Mekelle Ferenj, Abigail Salisbury, is a Professor in Mekele University, who, from her writing, is Donald Payne's HR-2003 advocate in Ethiopia. She makes the preposterous claims that almost all Ethiopian government officials are Tigrayans, and Tigrayans are the ones that actually opposed HR-2003. Further more, like Addis Ferenj she concocts stories to show there is hostility towards Tigrayans from other ethnic groups in Ethiopia. In her case she tells a story of how she was traveling in Amhara region of Ethiopia when she met young people who asked where she is coming from. When she told them she is coming from Mekele, they spat on her car. This is a poisonous message meant to sow seeds of ethnic discord kinijit last tried to instigate. It needs prompt response from those who hired her at Mekele University.

Ethiopia making extensive efforts to shore-up economic ties with China: Ambassador Hailekiros

ENA

Addis Ababa, January 16, 2008 (Addis Ababa) - Ethiopia is making wide ranging efforts meant to further shore up its relation with China in the political and economic sectors, Ethiopian Ambassador Plenipotentiary to China said. Ambassador Hailekiros Gesesse in an interview he gave to ENA on Wednesday said the diplomatic relation between Ethiopia and China is based on mutual benefits. The diplomatic relation between the two countries that is established on firm foundation dates back to several years, he added. Ambassador Hailekiros further said that the political relation between the two countries, which is based on non interference and mutual respect, is stepping up from time to time.

Siye Abraha talks more about his past credentials than his present political alignment because it is hard to defend being a junior member of Berhanu Nega's coalition of sellouts and terrorists. He tries to project an image of a fierce nationalist but that is all lost the day he became a willing partner in shaebia's AFD. Some Ethiopians may try to give him the benefit of the doubt, but in the end Siye is a tragic figure, whose perception of rights and wrongs is clouded by his deep hatred for Meles and EPRDF/TPLF.

Bloomberg

ENA

Addis Ababa, January 10, 2008 (Addis Ababa) - The Ministry of Information said the visit the US Congressman Donald Payne paid to Eritrea has reconfirmed his anti Ethiopia stance. The Ministry said on Thursday that the discussion Congressman Payne, who sponsored the HR-2003 bill in the US Congress, recently held in Asmara with leader of Sahbia who officially declared his partisanship with terrorism is an indicator of the Congressman's anti-Ethiopia position. The visit Payne paid to Asmara at a time when the US is making all efforts to get Eritrea, due to its dangerous policy of arming, training, hosting and organizing terrorists, registered on the list of states sponsoring terrorists, has publicized his close collaboration with the terrorist Eritrean government.

Surprise! U.S. Congressman pays homage to Africas head of terrorists

WIC

We all believe that the U.S. government is fiercely fighting terrorists wherever they are and it needs allies in this business across the world. We all also think that every American politician, at least congress people, are there to make sure this. No one expects to see its (U.S.) own politicians and congress people engaged in any kind of diplomatic or cooperative relations with any government, organization and entity with any kind of link with terrorists, leave alone the terrorists themselves. ..Now its very easy to see the Congress Man is supporting those who are against his own country and of course against Ethiopia. Like Jendayi E. Frazer put it earlier.SO THE LINKAGE IS QUITE SIGNIFICANT here and now too. What linkage? The linkage among Shaebiya with all the terrorists it provides safe haven, Donald Payne with his infamous HR 2003, Kinijit people particularly Birtukan Mideksa and Dr. Birhanu Nega, and the notorious OLF and ONLF.Didnt Ethiopians say that HR 2003 was mainly masterminded and financed by Shaebiya and worshipped by the Kinijit people, OLF and ONLF under Donald Paynes papacy?

High-level Chinese delegation to visit Ethiopia

ENA

Member parties of the Coalition for Utter Destruction of Ethiopia also known as kinijit are breaking old coalition and forming new ones with the same evil agenda of destroying Ethiopia. On the one hand there is the coalition led by opportunist Berhanu Nega, which includes his party Kestedamena, Seye Abrahas Arena, ONLF, OLF and the grand daddy of them all, shaebia. The other group led by Hailu Shawel includes AAPO and Virginia based EPRP. What they all have in common besides their hatred of the governing EPRDF is their support for HR2003, a bill that is anti-Ethiopia in its form and intention.
