THE COORDINATING COMMITTEE PROGRESS REPORT ON MEKELLE STADIUM PROJECT
In October 2006, the final stadium design was handed over to the president of Tigray region. The next step is to conclude the bidding process and the construction work will begin thereafter. The delay in the construction was due to a revision made on the design of the stadium.
So far, we have received donations from Ethiopians who live in Jeddah, Djibouti, Sudan for the construction of the stadium. Ethiopians residing in Canada have also raised some money for this purpose.

We appeal to all sport loving people that you can form committees with in your community and create awareness about the importance of the stadium. You can then organize fund raising events by inviting musicians who reside in the US and Europe. Youth participation in the fund raising activities is very important.
